Legal Notice

This page sets out who edits The Carbon Ledger, where the site is hosted and how reader data is handled. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

Publisher and editorial responsibility

The Carbon Ledger is an independent editorial publication. It is written and edited by The Carbon Ledger editorial team, which is the collective author credited on every guide. The site has no commercial relationship with any offset provider, registry, consultancy or standards body, and it does not sell carbon offsets, run inventories or recommend particular suppliers. Organisations named in the guides are described for the reader's benefit and never as partners of the site.

Contact

Editorial correspondence, corrections and source suggestions go to contact@ecoaidnow.com. The contact page explains what to include so that a message can be acted on quickly.

Hosting and technical details

The site is served as a static website through a global content delivery network. Pages are pre-built, which means there is no database behind them and no server-side processing of reader requests. This keeps the site fast and reduces the amount of data that could be exposed by a technical fault.

What data is collected

The Carbon Ledger does not ask readers to register, log in or submit personal details to read its guides. The calculator runs entirely in the reader's browser: the figures entered are not transmitted to or stored by the site. There is no account, no saved history and no profile behind the tool.

As with any website, the infrastructure that serves the pages may process basic technical information such as the requested address and a truncated IP address for security and performance purposes. This is standard for content delivery networks and is not used to build a profile of individual readers.

Cookies

The site does not set advertising cookies and does not use third-party tracking for marketing. If analytics or essential cookies are used in future, they will be limited to what is necessary and described here. Readers who wish to block cookies entirely can do so in their browser settings without losing access to the guides or the calculator.

External links

Guides link to outside sources so that readers can check figures and go further, including national agencies, accounting standards and registries. The site is not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of those external sites. Where a link is present, it is there because the destination is useful, not because of a commercial arrangement.

Copyright and reuse

The text and design of The Carbon Ledger belong to the publication. Short quotations with a link back to the original page are welcome. Reproduction of a full guide, or reuse of the site's material for commercial purposes, requires written permission from the editorial team. Requests can be sent to the address above.

Accuracy and corrections

The magazine aims to be accurate and to label estimates as estimates. Where an error is found, it is corrected in the open. Readers who spot a mistake are encouraged to write in with the page address and, where possible, a source. The editorial approach behind that commitment is described on the about page.
